…to my little sister, Katelyn! She turns 6 today!! While Jere and I were in Florida this past weekend, we were able to grab a few shots of her. This was definitely one of my favorites! She’s a cute kid, don’t ya think!?!?

Izzy is 3 today

I can’t believe Jere and I have had her for almost 3 years (we got her when she was 8 wks old). Where does the time go!? I’ve been looking at Barbara’s Canine Catering today. I can’t believe I’m seriously thinking about getting her a little cake or muffins to take to Florida next week (so she can share with her aunts and uncle of course). Am I really one of those people? And, then I remembered that I do dress her in sweaters and jackets (you know, to keep her warm and stuff)………..hmmmmmm……….annnnnnyways…

Happy Birthday, Isabella Rossellini! But, I don’t say Isabella Rossellini, I sing it…Eeee-suh-bell-uh Roze-uh-lee-nee. Wow, I just let a little of the weirdness show. But, if you know my father, then you know that making up random things and then singing them would be completely normal to me. So, I really can’t help it…I get it honest. ;)

Friday Favorites – Springtime edition

This is our fourth winter in North Carolina and every year around this time I become so sick of the gloominess! After all, this Florida girl does need her sunshine. So, I’ve decided to take a break and daydream about some of the favorite things we enjoy doing in the warmer months.

As one of my goals for the year, I’ve decided to start a new blogging series entitled “Friday Favorites”. I’m not sure if this will be a weekly thing, or a monthly thing. I hope it’s not a never again thing! :)

P.S. I would LOVE to hear what some of your favorite spring activities are…so please leave a comment and let me know! :)

It’s January…

…and I’m already failing miserably at one of my goals for 2011…to blog more. :( Jere and I have been meeting some of our other goals though. We cleaned and organized every square inch of our home, cleaned, sanded, primed, and painted our kitchen cabinets, decided on our 2011 pricing and packaging, and painted our office. We still have so much to do personally and professionally, but only 19 days into the month, we’re pretty proud of ourselves so far.

We’ve also been playing in the snow with Izzy…

and, I’ve started reading the Harry Potter series (I borrowed the set from Taylor) annnnnnnnnnd I’m officially addicted.

The Amazing Maize Maze at Rural Hill :: Charlotte Photographer

Never in my life had I been to a corn maze before moving here in 2008. Honestly, I don’t think I had ever heard of a corn maze before that. A maze, made out of corn stalks, looking for missing pieces of the map so you can find your way out…needless to say, we had a lot of fun! So, with my mom and Taylor in town last month (and they had never been to one either), we headed on over to Rural Hill. And, again, we had SO MUCH FUN! Seriously, can’t wait for next year!!

We found our first piece…You have to carry a flag throughout and tell you how to wave the flag if you need assistance. Oh, and of course I picked a pink flag…Jere caught this from up on the bridge…

Since we were also celebrating Taylor’s birthday, we all surprised her with dessert at Melting Pot. On the way, we thought the sun was so beautiful on the buildings, and Jere was able to get this of Uptown from the moving car…

I have always loved things that are scary, the scarier the better…haunted houses, true crime novels, hide-and-seek in the dark (and it didn’t matter if my dad was the “hider” or the “seeker,” he still scared the crap out of us!), scary movies… And, every year I have to have a “scary movie” marathon…it’s seriously a must! :)

So, as you might have guessed, I love Halloween! But, what you might not have guessed is that I also love tea parties! My friend, Marlene started throwing tea parties a few years ago, and I have been in love with them ever since. So, I decided to combine two of my loves, and had a Halloween themed tea party earlier this month when my mom, and Taylor were in town.

Thank you to Jere for not only snapping a few shots, but for also coming to the tea party! :) But, I know you loved every minute of it!! :)

Happy 14th birthday, Taylor!

My little sister Taylor was born 14 years ago today and I can’t believe it because I was 14 when she was born!!! It feels like it was only yesterday when I saw her beautiful and TINY face for the first time as she was rushed past me and into the NICU. She had just been born unexpectedly 8-weeks early but was in perfect health…just small. Now, 14 years later, not much has changed…she’s still tiny and beautiful! :)

Back to life…back to reality…

We recently went home to Florida to shoot a wedding, but also turned it into a vacation by spending time with family and friends. When it was time to come back to Charlotte, and since we’ve been back, I’ve found myself humming “back to life…back to reality…” :) I had to look it up to find out who sang the song and found the video on YouTube so I had to share! Seriously though, it has been so hard to get back in the swing of things! My brain is still on vacation mode.

Anyways, we’re currently editing Alexis and Tim’s wedding and will have our favorites up either tonight or sometime tomorrow, so (Alexis! :)) check back soon! But, for now, here’s a little sneak peek!

And, I also want to post some pictures from our night of bowling last month when my sister, Taylor was staying with us. I love bowling and have wanted to go FOR-EV-ER. So, we finally went…and (eh-hem) I won (just sayin’), which actually isn’t sayin’ much since I’m not that good and I bowled against two people who don’t even like to bowl. ;)

Wait for it…

…annnnnnd, he misses them all. (I love you!) ;)

Wow, such concentration…I wish I actually bowled as good as I look like I’m about to.

I just wanted to share a few images of an invitation we received today from Lauren (my brother’s girlfriend). She’s graduating from the University of Miami in May!

As you know, we have a wedding (in Florida) the same day as graduation, but we’ll be home for a week and can’t wait to celebrate with you! Jere and I are so proud of you and look forward to seeing all of the wonderful things the future holds for you!

Ashley’s Birthday!!!

Today is a wonderful day! At 7:52 PM on April 5th, 1982 my beautiful wife, Ashley, was born. At 9 lbs 5 1/2 oz it was certain to the doctors that she was going to be a he. Well, I sure am happy that she was not a boy, or things would probably be different between us.

My day started at 5:30 when I started to throw streamers, blow up balloons, a trip to dunkin donuts for you know what, and coffee! Needless to say I made it back by 7:30 to a still sleeping Ashley, which then awoke to discover I hadn’t gone to work after all. After breakfast, we took a ride to the movies and saw Hot Tub Time Machine, which was pretty funny to say the least. Following the movie, we blew through $10.00 at the arcade, and agree that we tied on everything!

For lunch, we headed to Cracker Barrel, and for dinner, Lancaster’s BBQ.

It was a fun, simple day, with lots of warm sunshine. Ashley and I had a great day, and that’s all that matters. Happy Birthday my darling, I love you and couldn’t imagine life without you!
