Jere has known Chris since their high school days when they ran Cross Country together. One day, while Jere and Chris were running through the Stetson University campus, they ran past Tara. Since she was on the Cross Country team, she caught up with them in an attempt to find out if they were students. And if so (they weren’t), then they should be on the team. Anyways, numbers were exchanged in an attempt to get a running group together, and, as they say, the rest is history.
Fast forward a few years, and Chris is now a race director for AltaVista Sports as well as his own company, 5K Race Director. And, Tara is currently a grad student at Columbia University. This past August, the two of them were married at the University of Oxford where Tara earned her Master’s degree.
So, while we were in Florida for Thanksgiving we were able to catch up with these two and do a little photoshoot! We thought that since Tara went to Stetson, she and Chris met at Stetson, and she wants to some day be a professor at Stetson, Stetson was the obvious choice for our photo session. ;) Plus, I always love the chance to get back to my old school. I’ve loved that campus since I was 10 years old.
I loved so many of the images from this session that it was impossible to narrow it down! So be prepared, there are A LOT of them!! :)
We decided to start in the historic district of DeLand where the campus located.
Introducing The Batistas!

We hope you enjoy the photos as much as we do! We look forward to seeing you two again soon! Maybe in New York City…in the spring…when you’re giving us the grand tour??? ;)
