Laurie and Jonathan are some of the cutest and sweetest people. Ever. Jere and I met them for the first time using Skype because they are currently Ph. D. students (Laurie in Rhetoric and Composition, Jonathan in Philosophy) at Purdue University in Indiana. Laurie is originally from Florida, but has also lived in North Carolina and Maine before moving to Indiana. And, Jonathan is from Maine but has also lived in North Carolina before moving to Indiana. So, I think these two were destined to meet in one state or another eventually! :) They decided to have the wedding in NC because it is the perfect middle ground for their families traveling from Florida and Maine. And, Banner Elk, NC, in October, at The Lodges at Eagles Nest is going to be absolutely beautiful!!!
Laurie and Jonathan flew in from Indiana and we were able to meet them face-to-face (w/o a computer) for the first time at Pike’s Soda Shop where we began their session. And, let me tell you, oh my goodness, these two are sooooo adorable together and sooooo in love (which you’ll see)!
They started the session with an ice cream cone up at the counter…

…and a lemonade.
Then, after an outfit change, we moved into Uptown for some more shooting. There was a Festival of India going on which made for some dancin’ music!
Laurie, you are stunningly beautiful.
Then, there was a Ricky Bobby moment…”I’m not sure what to do with my hands.” :)
When I came around and saw that they were sitting on a ledge, I said, “Jere, what are you making them do!?!?!?” But, then Laurie said it was actually her idea! (Oh, ok, awkard…sorry for jumping to conclusions my dear, sweet, loving husband.) ;) So, while they were sitting there, a group of people were walking by and looking at them. When Laurie and Jonathan moved to do a different pose, some of the people yelled and then started laughing because the whole time they thought they were mannequins sitting there! :) And then, eventually, security came out and said they had to get down (but he was actually REALLY NICE about it), and luckily we had already gotten a ton of shots.
Thank you so much for spending this time with us! Seriously, we had such a great time with the two of you!!! And, we can’t wait for you to see the bridal session, Laurie! We are so looking forward to October 23rd, we’ll see you then!!! xoxo

Wow, it was worth the wait, but being mom I’m a little biased I always prayed God would send the perfect guy for you, but he did one better he sent the perfect guy for you and your family. Great job Jonathan and Laurie.
